I thought about posting a easy-to-understand tutorial about upgrading your Nokia 500′s software to Nokia Belle. This can be done by connecting your phone to a Windows PC. Nokia Belle is a major update so it’s not available over-the-air (OTA).

Quick heads-up : Nokia Belle update for Nokia 500 has started to roll-out for a majority of countries and product codes. You can check the full list of product codes and countries here : FORUM
You can update your Nokia 500 to Nokia Belle through Nokia Suite or Nokia Software Updater.
Offtopic : I’ve started working on hacking the official Belle update for Nokia 500 and it’ll take just a couple of hours for me to upload the hacked files. :)

Our valuable forum member “vizhigal” has sneaked into the Nokia Belle files for Nokia 500 which are now available on Navifirm and found that the firmware indeed features only 4 Homescreen pages which was reported by Nokia two days ago.

It seems like the release date of Nokia Belle update for Nokia 500 is very near. Atleast, Navifirm tells us that. As you can see in the screenshot that I posted above, Nokia has already started uploading Nokia Belle v111.20.59 on their servers. Their done with the update for Poland, Switzerland and Croatia as far as I understood seeing the information on Navifirm Plus.
Is Nokia Belle any different for Nokia 500 compared to Nokia Belle for other phones?

Nokia Belle is specifically tailored to each phone model, including the Nokia 500. Due to technical specifications, Nokia Belle for Nokia 500 differs to other Nokia Belle phones in the following aspects:
- Nokia 500 with Nokia Belle only supports 4 homescreens.
- Nokia 500 does not support NFC.
- FM transmitter and widget are not supported in Nokia 500.
- Nokia 500 includes Nokia Maps 3.06 instead of 3.08.
