Team NITDroid is f*cking able to dual-boot Android and MeeGo successfully on Nokia N9. This new alpha version of NITDroid, which ofcourse is a initiative (or rather a project) taken by Android modders (that’s the greatness of the openness of the OS) which brings Android on various Nokia phones with Linux kernels. They’ve brought Android on Nokia N900 before.

MeeGo, which was developed by Intel and Nokia, is now dead! Samsung replaced Nokia as Intel’s partner and developed a new OS together with the help from the linux foundation called “Tizen”. It can be seen in a screenshot that the web browser user agent shows “Samsung I9500″ which could be the next Galaxy SIII. What’s more interesting is, the I9xxx lineup is usually reserved for Samsung’s flagship-android phones. More information and leaked screenshots after the break!

Here are a few more videos of the Nokia N9. The Nokia N9 is Nokia’s MeeGo Powered Smartphone. It features a curved 3.9-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass. The N9 is unique as it doesn’t have any buttons on the front, so all navigation is handled with virtual buttons and gestures in MeeGo.

Nokia has ended development of its first smartphone using its new MeeGo operating system before it was ever launched, two industry sources close to the company said.

A spokesman for Nokia declined to comment.
The yet unproven MeeGo software platform, seen as a key weapon in Nokia’s battle against Apple and Google in the high end smartphone market, was created early last year from the merger of Nokia and Intel’s Linux-based platforms Maemo and Moblin.
