CyanogenMod (the world famous android modding group) team is seeking donations to keep their website running and to buy new hardware for testing purposes. They need to test the CyanogenMod 9 on devices any of their team members don’t own at the moment. They’re a non-profit organisation, but expecting them to buy phones off their own pockets’ money for others’ sake is a bit extra.. umm.. you can guess it.

Now rooting has become much easier. You now can root your Android with just a click. XDA developers has released an application called “Super One-Click” to root your Android in a very easy way, and there’s no chance of your phone getting bricked, too. Because you don’t need to go to the bootloader extent, anymore.

The popular MIUI ROM’s developer Xiaomi has decided to open-source it’s custom ROM for Android. That means, now you’ll be able to grab the source codes of one of the greatest custom ROMs for Android, ever. You can grab it from here, though the full source isn’t available at the moment. This is a great news for other Android devs as they’ll be able to insert MIUI elements into their own ROMs easily now.

A new official Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S II was leaked recently. This one is absolutely suitable for day-to-day use. It also brings battery life improvements and UI changes.
